For Narrative Filmmakers

As a New York City (NYC)-based cinematographer, I center my cinematography practice around making the process as smooth and creatively fulfilling for indie directors as possible, while also providing the technical and skill support they need to create a standout film on a budget. As a writer/director myself, I know the challenges of juggling so many hats, so I ensure we have a clear plan and communication going into the shoot.

Process

Pre-Production

We'll map our way through each scene to ensure we have a thorough, inspired shot list, so you can accurately budget and schedule the shoot and go into production with confidence that we're on the same page. This will also help us know what gear and team we'll need to assemble to bring the visuals of your story to life.

Production

On the day of the shoot, I'll be your creative partner and handle all the technical aspects of the camera and lighting. I'll also provide creative input, as desired, so you can have a second set of eyes on the visual storytelling & continuity. Given our previous planning, the shoot is fun and often filled with inspired discoveries.

Post-Production

After the shoot, I'll participate in the color correction & grading process to make sure the colorist is on the same page with your intent. I color many of the projects I shoot, which streamlines the process and provides consistency from the initial visualization through the end of the process.
