Spot Creative came to me to color this project, because they knew the visual quality of their final product needed to match Zeiss’s legendary status as a maker of sharp imagery. A great majority of the project had been shot in the Morgan Library in New York, which was dimly-lit and prohibited the use of external lights, because of the antique books it housed. This meant they needed to push their Arri Alexa cameras to the max in the dark interior, creating extreme under-exposures, muddy details, and color casting. Using the full suite of DaVinci tools/skills, I was able to restore and normalize the footage and match it to the outdoor footage & interviews.
